Itinerary
June 9 - Overnight flight from US to Paris.
June 10 - Pickup at the airport and transfer to our ship, the Avalon Tapestry II. Spend the afternoon exploring Paris on your own or relaxing on the ship.
Tonight, we'll have a special Welcome Dinner aboard the ship. (D)
June 11 - Today we have a full day in Paris with several tours to choose from.
If this is your first time to the City of Lights, perhaps you would enjoy the Classic guided city tour.
If you're feeling more energetic, you may join the Active bike tour of the city or perhaps you're ready to delve into the culinary history of the city on the Discovery tour of food & culture in Paris.
This afternoon you can wander the city on your own or take one of the optional (add'l cost) tours to the Palace & Gardens of Versaille or an additional guided sight seeing tour in the city.
Tonight we sail away from Paris to our first stop in Conflans. (B, L, D)
June 12 - After breakfast, you have several options of tours to choose from.
If you are a lover of Van Gogh, you could join the Classic tour to Auvers-sur-Oise for a walking tour of his last apartment, some of the famous sites and landscapes of his paintings and his grave site. Aletrnatively, you could take the Classic tour to opulent Chateau de Malmaison, the home Napolean built for his wife, Joephine.
You might prefer the Active EBike tour to the Chateau de Masions-Lafitte where you'll enjoy refreshments.
If you've always wanted to learn how to make Chantilly cream, you may opt for the Discovery tour that takes you to Chantilly Castle where you learn to make this treat from the experts.
This afternoon we will enjoy sailing on the Seine on our way to Vernon.

June 13 - This morning after breakfast you will again have several choices of tours.
The town of Giverny is where you can enjoy Monet's house and gardens, including the famous lily pond. This Discovery tour allows you time to visit the town as well, and perhaps walk to the church to find Monet's burial place or visit the museum there.
If you love to kayak, why not take the Active tour and paddle through waterways giving you a different perspective of the area.
You could decide to stay in Vernon and enjoy the Classic walking tour of the town's medieval streets.
This afternoon for lunch as we sail to the next town, Les Andelys, we'll enjoy an authentic French lunch of crepes followed by a pastry demonstration.
Once we dock in Les Andelys, you can decide on taking the following tours or just exploring this small town or the castle ruins on the hill on your own.
The Classic tour will be a guided tour of the town complete with the history and entrance into the Saint Sauveur's Church.
You can be more Active by joining a hike up to the Chateau Gaillard, the ruins of King Richard the Lionheart's defensive castle.
If you like ghost stories, perhaps the Discovery tour to the haunted Abbey de Mortemere would be more fun for you.
Tonight we'll sail to Rouen.

French Beauty
June 14 – Today we'll be in Rouen, an historic city bisected by the river Seine. The left bank was completely destroyed during WWII and rebuilt, while the right bank still has half-timbered houses dating back to the Middle Ages. It's famous cathedral and astronomical clock also survived and are worth visiting.
You can join a Classic guided walking tour of the city highlights this morning and have the afternoon free to explore on your own or perhaps join an optional tour to make macarons. (B, L, D)
June 15 – This morning from Caudebec we can join a full day tour of Normandy on several different tours.
The Classic tours will take you to the Normandy Landing Beaches and you can choose from the American beach of Omaha and site of Pointe du Hoc and a visit to the US Cemetary OR to the British cemetary, the Pegasus Memorial, Juno Beach and the Beny-sur-mer Canadian cemetary.
You may choose the Discovery tour, a day in Normandy, following the path of William the Conqueror, King Henry IV & Queen Marie de Medici ending the day with a Calvados tasting.

June 16 – Today we find ourselves in the port city of Le Havre where we'll stay overnight for our last night on the ship.
This morning you can choose from the Active bike tour of the city, the Discovery tour to Fecamp to visit the Palais Benedictine where you'll enjoy a cocktail demonstration with the famous Benedictine liquer OR the Classic guided city tour of Le Havre.
The afternoon is yours to explore on your own or take an optional tour to beautiful seaside Honfleur or the cliffs and gardens of Etretat.

June 17 – Today we say good bye to our ship, the Tapestry II and head for a visit to the famous town of Mont Saint-Michel on our way to spend two nights in Saint Malo.
We'll enjoy a Classic guided tour of Mont Saint-Michel and it's abbey and have free time in the town before heading to the Oceania Hotel St. Malo (or similar) (B, D)
June 18 – Today you can explore Saint Malo on your own or join one of the included tours.
The Classic tour will be a guided walking tour of Saint Malo discussing its history including piracy. If you are ready to stretch your legs, you may want to take the Active bike ride along the coast to the Nielles and enjoy some local food tastings OR the Discovery tour to Dol-de-Bretagne and a stop in Nielles for a local food tasting.
Dinner will be on your own in Saint Malo. (B)
June 19– Today we head to Paris for our final night and along the way visit the famous 12th century gothic cathedral, Notre Dame de Chartres.
This afternoon, we check into the Pullman Montparnasse (or similar) and have the rest of the day and dinner on our own. (B)
June 20 – This morning we will be transferred to the airport for our flight home. (B)
