Romantic Rhine River Cruise

April 27 - May 8, 2019

April 27 - Overnight flight from JFK to Amsterdam.

April 28 - Private pickup at the airport followed by a scenic drive to the city of Edam. Here we will enjoy a stroll through the town enjoying the architecture and history and enjoy refreshment at a local inn.

Next we head to a local cheese farm where we'll discover the many varieties of Dutch cheese. Then on to the town of Zaanse Schans, which is a fully functioning open-air museum town depicting life in years gone by, complete with windmills and shops. Here you can explore and find some lunch before we head back to Amsterdam to check in for two nights at the Estherea Hotel.

You will have time to freshen up and explore the neighborhood at leisure before we enjoy an early 3 Course Dinner including wine at Haesje Claes restaurant. (D)

April 29 - This morning after breakfast we will stroll to the Anne Frank House museum where we will have entrance tickets provided. The tour is via audio-guide included in the entrance fee.

After the tour, we'll head back to the hotel and board a classic salon boat for an hour and a half canal tour of Amsterdam. Coffee and tea is complimentary and bar beverages are available for purchase. We'll experience some of the smaller canals that the larger boats can't manage and our pilot will be our tour guide.

The afternoon and evening are completely free for you to explore Amsterdam(B)

April 30 –   This morning after breakfast, we'll load our luggage into the coach and head off to the famous Keukenhoff Gardens. You will enjoy the beauty of the countryside long before you get to spend an hour and a half enjoying the gardens on your own. Entrance to the gardens is included.

We then head back to Amsterdam and board our luxurious River Cruise ship. Depending on where our ship is docked will depend on whether we can walk to the VOC Cafe also known as the Weeping Tower, to enjoy a light lunch or beverage, or whether we will stay onboard the ship. We will enjoy a welcome dinner onboard the ship. (B, D)
