August 13 - Höfn - VestraHorn
After breakfast at our hotel, we'll head straight to Höfn, a lovely town in the southern most part of Iceland. Vatnajokull glacier looms over the fjord. The most bewitching site in the area is the Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon with immense floating icebergs that have broken off from the descending glacier tongue of Breidamerkurjokull glacier.
The Osaland nature reserve is just a short walk from the town. The reserve has beautiful walking trails circling its pond and along the beach.
Next we'll head to VestraHorn, a mountain that is located on the Stokknes Peninsula. Vestrahorn is an impressive 454 metres (1,490 feet) tall. It faces out to the sea on its southern side and is surrounded by a sandy coastline that is often home to seals. Like most stretches of beach in Iceland, the sands here are black due to the island’s volcanism.
In the afternoon we'll head back to our hotel for dinner (B, D)
August 14 - Skaftafell National Park - Glacier Lagoon
After breakfast at our hotel, we'll head to Skaftafell national park.
Skaftafell is notable for its rich flora, growing between sands and glaciers, and for its amazing, contrasting scenery. We will find a wealth of natural attractions, from cascading waterfalls to glacier lagoons, and geological formations to black sand deserts.
The rugged region is known for its fantastic photo opportunities, with many awe-inspiring panoramic views.
We'll take a short hike to Svartifoss waterfall, and then from Skaftafell head to Glacier Lagoon for a boat tour on the lagoon. On our way back to Kirkjubæjarklaustur we'll stop at Dverghamrar Elf Cliffs.
We'll head back to our hotel for dinner. (B, D)
August 15 - Fjadrárgljúfur Canyon - Reynisfjara - Dyrhólaey - Reykjavik
After breakfast at our hotel, we'll check out and start with a visit to Fjadrárgljúfur canyon.

You can hike to the viewing point in just a few minutes, but there is also an option to hike along the canyon to see the waterfall at the end of the canyon. Hikers are treated to breathtaking views of the canyon walls rising up on either side of them, with the river rushing by below.
