3 Northeastern Christmas Markets

3 Northeastern Christmas Markets

When it comes to Christmas, what do you think about…? Snow? Santa Claus? Presents? Ugly Christmas Sweaters? Well…what about family????? What about the difficulty of finding “worthwhile” presents for the family?

Take a family trip to a ‘local’ Christmas Market! We want to take a trip to Europe next year for some of their annual Christmas Markets, but this year we’re sticking closer to home. Here’s a list of three AUTHENTIC Northeastern Christmas markets.

 1)  People’s Gas Holiday Market – Pittsburgh, PA

Inspired by the original Christkindlmarkt in Nuremberg, Germany, the People’s Gas Holiday Market is a must do this season. While wandering the European-style chalets, you’ll find one-of-a-kind, and maybe even handmade, gifts for everyone in the family. The market helps to showcase the astounding Bavarian culture that follows Christmas season. Event celebrations include dailylive performances and don’t forget to visit Market Square, to get a look at the 150,000 twinkling lights on the 30-foot tree.

Dates: November 20 – December 23, 2015

2)  Christmas Village – Philadelphia, PA

LOVE Park, located in Center City of Philadelphia, is transformed into a Christmas Market that is the spitting image of the markets you can find in Europe’s Christmas Markets. While wandering the market you will feel like you’re in Germany…with a great shopping experience, a chance to enjoy delicious German sweets and drinks and possibly the kids will be able to meet Santa, himself.

Dates: Nov 21st – Dec 27th 2015

3)  Christmas Village – Baltimore, MD

Due to the overwhelming success of the Christmas Village in Philadelphia, the new ‘sister’ market became a reality. Although it will only be the second year of existence, this Christmas Market feel like it has so much history already. Taking place around the Walter Sondheim Fountain, you’ll be able to take in the sights of the beautiful Holiday Tree, more than 60 wooden booths that are offering the best of presents for your loved ones, and enjoy the wafting smells of waffles, gingerbread and mulled cider.

Dates: Nov 26th – Dec 27th 2015
